Today’s Home Is Becoming a ‘Smart’ Machine: An Interview With Lorenzo Apicella
The CEDIA Expo in Dallas offered attendees a glimpse into the future of the “smart” home. Smart technology like locks that can be opened with a smartphone app and home security systems that are sold at affordable prices were just a few of the latest products showcased at the expo.
Lorenzo Apicella, a partner at Pentagram, a design consultancy with offices in London and New York, hosted his own CEDIA Talk, “Machines for Living In – Architecture and Technology.” Apicella spoke to attendees about the history of technology in architecture past and present, and how technology might inform the future of the home experience.
Apicella talked with The Home Story about the pros and cons of the “smart” home.
