December 15 Long Island Relief Event

Fannie Mae mortgage specialists will be available at HOPE Now’s “HOPE for Long Island” event on Saturday, December 15 to help homeowners with Fannie Mae loans [1] determine their eligibility for special disaster relief options [2], including:

• suspending or reducing mortgage payments (forbearance) for up to 12 months for eligible homeowners in FEMA-declared disaster areas.
• suspending legal actions (i.e., foreclosures) in process for homeowners in federally designated disaster areas.
• waiving any late payment charges and suspending credit reporting for any homeowner for whom relief is granted.
• lowering mortgage payments permanently (modification) making them more affordable over the long-term.

Homeowners meeting with Fannie Mae should bring their monthly mortgage statement, information about other mortgages on their home, documentation of all income, and property insurance documents (if available).
